Culture, Perspective & Connection: Dawn Campos
Published on June 5, 2026
There are people you meet in this industry who stand out right away, and Dawn was absolutely one of them for me. From the start, I was struck by her warmth, kindness, and intelligence. But what stood out even more was the perspective she brings to this industry and the intentional way she serves others.
Dawn spent 21 years living in Brazil after moving there at just three years old. Portuguese became her second native language, and Brazilian culture became closely woven into who she is. Like many childhood experiences, she once thought the most memorable parts would be the adventure itself, living in the Amazon, experiencing a completely different culture, and maybe even dreaming about owning a sloth named “Lightning.” What she couldn’t have imagined at the time was how profoundly those years would influence her professional life years later. Her experience living abroad gave her something valuable: the ability to understand how culture, background, and lived experiences shape how people approach homeownership and financial transactions.
As Dawn points out, many Americans naturally enter the homebuying process with a level of trust in the systems around them, trusting lenders, title companies, and the process itself. But for many individuals from other parts of the world, that trust may not come so easily. Experiences shaped by corruption, instability, or broken systems can create understandable hesitation and skepticism. That understanding has become central to the way Dawn serves clients today.
At AmTrust Title Insurance Company, Dawn helps create a more informed and comfortable experience for clients by truly meeting them where they are. One initiative she helped bring to life was offering title commitments in multiple languages, including Portuguese, not to replace promulgated forms, but to provide an added layer of clarity and education. It’s a thoughtful approach that helps clients feel more confident and supported as they navigate one of the biggest investments of their lives.
What I admire most about Dawn is that her approach centers on empathy, recognizing that not everyone has the same experiences or comfort level, and that thoughtful steps can greatly enhance a client's sense of support.
This industry talks often about service, but Dawn truly embodies it in a meaningful way.
Her story is a reminder that our personal experiences often become the source of our professional strengths, helping us connect with clients, build trust, and provide clarity in overwhelming moments.
Women like Dawn are exactly why communities like Women in Title matter. They remind us that expertise and professionalism are important, but empathy, perspective, and humanity are what truly leave a lasting impact.
